Understand: Limits on Check Payments and Outside Donations
Learn how the limit on check payments and outside donations is calculated.
RallyUp offers maximum fundraising flexibility by allowing you to enable a check payment option at checkout:
How-to: Allow Donors to Pay by Check
You can also choose to collect check and cash donations outside of RallyUp and manually add them to your records:
By default, RallyUp limits check payments and outside donations to 10% of your total amount raised. This limit can be changed for special circumstances. Contact our customer service team by emailing
How It Works
Your current amount raised is calculated from all payments made to your Experience, including:
- Credit and debit card payments
- Payments from apps like PayPal, Google Pay, and Apple Pay
- Check payments for online donations/purchases (donors selected Check at checkout)
- Outside cash and check donations that you manually add to your records
The following payment types count towards the available limit on check and outside donations:
- Check payments for online donations/purchases (donors selected Check at checkout)
- Outside cash and check donations that you manually add to your records
The limit is updated continually as you raise funds. For example, if your Experience has a 10% limit and has raised $3,000, up to $300 can come from check payments and outside donations. If the amount raised increases to $10,000, up to $1,000 can come from check payments and outside donations.
If your limit has already been reached before a donor goes to check out, Check will no longer display as a payment option in checkout. If you raise more funds and the limit increases, the Check payment option will display again.
